Schwieberdingen is a modern residential and industrial community with about 11,000 inhabitants in the district of Ludwigsburg. It is located about five kilometers from the district town of Ludwigsburg and about ten kilometers from Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden-Württemberg.

The B 10 motorway (which is to be pointed out as the "approach to main traffic" and the consolidation of traffic only takes place after the Schwieberdingen exit). It separates industrial and residential areas from each other. The two nearest motorway connections to the A 81 is Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen about 4 km southeast of Schwieberdingen, Ludwigsburg-South about 5 km east.

The Strohgäubahn runs regularly between Korntal and Heimerdingen (or individual trains to Weissach) via the station Schwieberdingen in the south of the village. In addition, Schwieberdingen has some local and regional bus connections, which are part of the Verkehrsverbund and Tarifverbund Stuttgart. Buses from and to Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart sometimes go several times in the hour. In addition, the connection to the planned Stadtbahn Ludwigsburg is currently being discussed.
